Hello All,
Happy February! Can’t believe it is here already. The weather is getting colder here in Southern California, kinda feels like winter. I have been taking a break from markets and social media for a couple of weeks and I am getting a lot of stuff done. Love it! I am attaching my Feb. calendar so you can see where and when you can find me in February.
So we all know Valentine’s Day is this month. My husband Mark proposed to me on Valentines Day 2007, that was my Best Valentine’s Day present! Awwwwwww, what about you? What is your best Valentine’s Day? You can always send me an email to tell me about it. I love hearts, drawing hearts, cutting metal hearts, you name it…love hearts so I wondered where that symbol came from. You will find that information below. Very Interesting Stuff!
Heart Symbol
Widely recognized as a symbol for love and affection, the heart shape has evolved over centuries. It may be hard to believe the double-scalloped ideogram with the v-shaped base hasn’t been around forever, as these heart shapes are a constant in modern life: one of the most widely used emojis is the heart. How did this ubiquitous symbol, which shows up everywhere from text messages to fine art, come to be? Its evolution is unclear but hear are some different example that could be the answer.
Heart shapes were used in decorative art by ancient societies. One of the oldest examples is an Indus Valley civilization pendant embossed with a heart-shaped fig leaf. Ivy, fig and water-lily leaves were all used in art and heraldry. Ivy is often used as a symbol of fidelity. It is possible that the plant’s symbolism contributed to the eventual, modern meaning of the heart-shape.
Valentine’s Day
The 8th-century Gelasian Sacramentary recorded the celebration of the Feast of Saint Valentine on February 14. The day became associated with romantic love in the 14th and 15th centuries, when notions of courtly love flourished, apparently by association with the “lovebirds” of early spring.
February Moon
THE FULL MOON: On the 12th, the full Moon is in Leo; this is your time to shine! Step into the spotlight and be proud of your accomplishments. Toot your horn! Above all, do not hide your light under a bushel. Take pride in yourself and your achievements. Be ready to celebrate others as well. This full Moon can bring frenemies out of the woodwork. While that may be disappointing, it’s better to know who’s in your corner…and who’s not.
THE NEW MOON: February finishes on a beautiful note when the new Moon in Pisces arrives on the 27th. Suddenly, you can forge new bonds, make new art, or dream up future goals. There are no limits to what your imagination can conjure. Dream on—and big!

Great newsletter ,very Informative . I’m curious as to why there are 2 fish in the Pisces Symbol , never thought about it much till now 🙂
Thanks Mark for the nice comment on the Newsletter! There are a couple of different explanations about 2 fish in Pisces Symbol.
1. The Two Fish swimming in opposite directions could represent the constant struggle between fantasy and reality.
2. In one Greek myth, Aphrodite and Eros transformed into fish to escape the monster Typhon. To avoid getting separated, they tied themselves together with a string.
I like em both!
